Galia coached and guided AUT’s School of Sport and Recreation’s leadership to co-create a Centre of Research Excellence – Te Kākano – to be established at AUT. Through a series of highly curated workshops, the team mobilised over 100 key researchers and sector representatives across the sport and physical activity sector in New Zealand, resulting in a multidisciplinary research collective of New Zealand’s pre-eminent physical activity and sport science researchers.
The Centre is committed to enhancing mana, connectedness and health through physical activity and sport. The co-creation process involved over 20 institutions, including tertiary and non-tertiary organisations, and Hui and workshops with over 100 researchers and community representatives
